Day at the Beach

In the summer we used to go to Callaway Gardens, where they had a huge lake and sand. I usually went with our neighbors the Jableys. Mrs. Jabley brought cold kibbeh (a Lebanese dish) and pizza slices. This was Georgia in the 60s, so kibbeh and pizza were exotic. There wasn't even an Italian restaurant in town.
